We deliver fast, efficient shearing, around 2 minutes per sheep on average, while keeping your flock calm and cared for.
No power? No problem. Our portable shearing trailer lets us set up anywhere on your farm or even at night, if needed. Whether you’re prepping for spring or summer, we’re ready when you are. Most shearers don't offer the flexibility or care that we do.
“10/10 recommend them! Fast, efficient, and great people!! Would 100% use them again!”
Creating a safe and comfortable environment makes shearing easier on both your sheep and the shearer. Here are a couple of ways you can help:
Giving sheep a break from food and water for about 12 hours helps empty their stomachs. This makes them more comfortable in different shearing positions, so they kick less, and the whole process is safer. It also keeps the shearing area clean, since full sheep are more likely to defecate, which can make the floor slippery. Empty bellies mean cleaner wool, which is especially important if you plan to sell it.
Damp wool is harder to shear and can lead to problems. Dry sheep not only help us avoid skin infections caused by wet wool, but they also protect the value of your fleece by preventing wool rot. If rain or wet snow is in the forecast, try to keep sheep under cover so they stay dry before shearing day.
We can shear flocks of up to 200 sheep per day with one shearer, and while we stick strictly to sheep (no alpacas or llamas), we make the process smooth and straightforward. You can pay by credit card or cheque, and just a quick reminder — extra fees may apply if the sheep haven’t been kept off feed for 12 hours beforehand.
